Dear La Marzocco Customers:

Effective Monday, July 13, 2009, all La Marzocco product sales and technical, training, and warranty support will be operated by La Marzocco USA, a sister company of La Marzocco s.r.l. La Marzocco USA will offer the highest quality espresso equipment with the customer support and satisfaction you expect from La Marzocco. While we will work diligently to make the transition as seamless as possible, we ask you for your patience, as we work through this change. La Marzocco USA looks forward to serving all customers and baristas in the specialty coffee community.

How will customers be affected?

All customers will retain pricing and terms as they are currently established with Franke Coffee Systems North America, Inc. However, all customers on credit will be asked to submit a new credit application to La Marzocco USA.

What products will La Marzocco USA offer?

La Marzocco USA will be the exclusive U.S. distributor of La Marzocco espresso equipment and parts, Jet Steam coffee equipment, and Malykke coffee grinders. In addition, Mazzer espresso grinders will be offered.

Welcome back to all of you – this is fantastic news. The team at the old ESI (any of who appear to be on board with v3.0) set the gold standard for excellence in customer service on all of the many occasions I worked with them for parts and support issues.

My experience with the Franke organization, on the other hand, was beset with frustration – none with individual people but with the structure and the fact that corporate size seemed to create countless inefficiencies (not to mention that I will not miss the “hold music from hell”).

This is a happy day.

With this change, let’s hope La Marzocco USA makes available some replacement group switches for Lineas that work well and remain available.
